Bio

David Osborn was married twice. His first wife's name was Mary and they had sons, Horace and Edward. Nothing is found regarding Edward so he is presumed to have died. Horace was named in the divorce papers for Mary and David. David remarried in 1869 to Katherine Carr aka Katherine Kanouse (2nd husband). They were Blessed with more Children in their Marriage Union. David Osborn fought in the Civil war with the U.S. 19th Regiment, Company I. He was wounded at Chickamauga and spent the following 19 months in Andersonville Prison, the Confederate Prison Camp. He was shot in the spine while lying on his stomach to shoot. He was picked up by the Confederate Army medics and taken to their prison. While in prison, he contracted dysentery. The Confederate soldiers couldn't provide adequate care for the prisoners. He was released from there at the end of the war. As a result of his wounds and illnesses, he spent his last few years in a nursing home for old soldiers. He died as a result of his wounds and was buried in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, lot 19,, which lies on a country road outside of Prescott. The town now only has three remaining buildings. Originally it was a town of almost 10,000 people. (Co. A. 19th Reg. G. A.
