WILLIAM WASKO FUNERAL JULY 28 William L. Wasko, 68, Clarkson, died July 25, 1995, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Rev. Ronald Battiato officiated the July 28, 10 a.m. funeral service at Sts. Cyril and Methodist Catholic Church in Clarkson. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery in Clarkson. Pallbearers were members of the Clarkson Volunteer Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers were Emanuel Sup, Dr. Robert Odvarka, Joe Toman, John Kucera, Eidon Prazak, Dave Herout, Lumir Vrbicky, Jack Thompson and Don Konopasek. Visitation was July 27 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Clarkson, after 6 p.m. at the church and from 9 a.m. to the time of service at the church on July 28. Rosary was prayed July 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the church The son of William W. and Magdelena (Roether) Wasko, he was born April 1, 1927, on a farm north of Clarkson. He received his education in the Clarkson Public Schools and graduated from Clarkson High School in 1945. After graduating he joined the United States Navy. He served his country during World War II from March 1945 to August 1946 and took part in Pacific Theatre of Operations. When he returned home, he worked in Clarkson in the hatchery business. On December 28, 1950, he married JoAnn Vidlak in Clarkson. A skilled carpenter, he worked as a project manager during the building of the government housing in Clarkson. He continued working for the government until becoming employed with a private contractor as a field inspector on commercial building projects. In 1976, he returned to Clarkson where he went into real estate business. He was a 25-year member of the Clarkson Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Clarkson VFW Post 6419. Survivors include one daughter, Becky (Mrs. Kenneth) Pribli, Omaha, two sons, Todd, Clarkson, Clem, Omaha, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild one brother, Norman Wasko, Omaha and one sister, Marcella (Mrs. Herb) Jacobsen, Des Moines, lowa.
