Bessie was born on July 24, 1928, in Ennis, Texas, to the late Joe J. and Annie V. (Palka) Jaska. She grew up in Ennis and attended Ennis High School. She was a role model of what it meant to be a mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She always did for everyone else but herself. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, she always lite up when they entered the house. She spoiled them rotten. Bessie never used the word “in-law” regarding her children and grandchildren’s spouses as were always considered as her children. Bessie enjoyed playing golf and you never bothered her when golf was on TV. Her Czech heritage was her pride and she loved her music and dancing to the Polka and Waltzs. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Hetmer and George Johnson; granddaughter, Jennifer Hetmer; brothers, Jody Jaska and Wesley Jaska; sisters: Judy Lanning, Anna Jurcik, and Rosie Chapman.
