Bio

Timothy W. Kahlig, born November 28, 1965, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 24, 2002 at the age of 36. He was a native and lifetime resident of San Antonio. Mr. Kahlig was a direct descendant of Jose Antonio Navarro, one of the signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence. He competed in Special Olympics and received many awards including the State Silver Medal in Bowling. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and earned the Order of the Arrow. He received religious training at St. Matthews and St. Mary Magdalen's Catholic Churches. Survivors include his parents, Clarence John Kahlig I and Elvira Flores Kahlig; sisters, Brenda M. Kahlig and Sharon Kahlig Perez; brothers, Clarence J. Kahlig II, Gary A. Kahlig and John A. Kahlig; 13 nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and nephews. A Rosary and Vigil Service will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at 7:30 P.M. at St. Matthews Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 27, 2002 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Matthews Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Holy Cross Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Lisa Marie Perez, David M. Perez Jr., Clarence J. Kahlig II, Clarence Jeffery Kahlig III, Stephen Michael Kahlig and John A. Kahlig. Honorary Pallbearers are David M. Perez Sr. and Frank Gebhardt. Timothy and his parents request that memorial contributions be made to St. Matthews Catholic Church Capital Improvement Fund. Mission Park Funeral Chapels North.
