FINAL RITES TUESDAY FOR VIRGIL C. BEARD RESIDENT OF JAMESTOWN Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the chapel of the Bigelow Mortuary for Virgil C. Beard, 62, of Jamestown, who succumbed Friday night in the a local hospital following a brief illness. The Rev Harold E. Rhodes of the Standard Community church officiated. Cremation was in Park View Crematory, Stockton. Mr. Beard, who had resided at Jamestown for the past 21 years, was a native of Texas. He had been employed as a carpenter. Surviving are a son, Raymond Beard of Watsonville, CA; a daughter, Mrs. Lois Johns of San Jose, and two sisters and four brothers in Texas.
