Bio

CANADIAN — Alana S. Hamon-Daughtry of Canadian died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church in Wheeler with Brother Joe G. Jernigan officiating and the Rev. Matthew Gary assisting. Burial will be in Zybach Cemetery in Briscoe. Arrangements are by Pepper Family Funeral Home in Wheeler. Mrs. Hamon-Daughtry was born Jan. 27, 1951, in Wheeler to Kenneth and Bonita Hamon. She was a wonderful teacher and had so much passion for educating the future generations. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth J. Daughtry II of Wheeler and Eric T. Daughtry of Shamrock; a brother, Kenneth R. Hamon of Pampa; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 S. Fourth St., Canadian, TX 79014. (Published in Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 1, 2015)
