Bio
Mary lived in Dallas 53 years before moving to Farmers Branch in 2005. While raising her children in the 1950s and 1960s she was a community volunteer and active in several organizations, including the Women’s Auxiliary of the Home & Apartment Builders Association of Metropolitan Dallas. She served as president in 1973. In 1978 the Geraldine Worley Award for exemplary service in the Auxiliary was presented to her. Mary loved to travel. She enjoyed touring many European countries, as well as Mexico, Central America, Brazil, and China. Mary was a gifted visual artist. Her art was not a profession; it was a passion. It led her to return to college late in life. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1986 and a Master of Fine Arts in 1990 from the University of North Texas. From 1983-2000 Mary’s art was in juried shows throughout Texas. She truly enjoyed creating sculpture and associating with fellow artists in the Texas Sculpture Association and other artist organizations.
