Evelyn S. Konvicka, 73, of Hallettsville, passed away Aug. 14, 2015. She was born on Dec. 4, 1941 to Fredrich & Frances Kobza Shimek in Schulenburg. She married Laddie M. Konvicka on April 16, 1966 in Praha, TX. She was a member of the Red Hat’s Society, Czech Heritage Society and St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Evelyn was preceded in death by: her husband Laddie; parents; and 4 brothers, Otto, Melvin, Ewald and Benjamin Shimek. Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Wednesday, at Kubena Funeral Home with Rosary starting at7 pm. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Burial: Shiner Catholic Cemetery.
