Hastings resident, Jean Larie Bilka, 69, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska. Services will be Monday, August 17, 2015; 2:30 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor John Whitsett officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be Sunday, August 16, 2015; 1:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. with family present 3:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church. Jean was born in Pawnee City on December 16, 1945 to Mabel & Archie Richardson. Jean married Ben Bilka on May 31, 1980. She was employed by Mary Lanning Hospital, Dutton Lainson, Dana Corporation and a host of nursing homes and care centers. Jean was a member of the Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene. The loves of her life were her family and teaching children’s church. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Rex Richardson.
