Bio

The sixth child of John Kotrla and Frances Blaha, Vlasta Karolina Kotrla was born in Taylor, Texas on July 14, 1908 and spent most of her life in the Taylor area. She passed away in Austin, TX at the Walnut Hills Convalescent Center on Friday, October 23, 1998. She attended the Long Branch School, and was a life-long member of the Taylor Brethren Church. She was preceded in death by parents, John Kotrla and Frances Siller, as well as four brothers: Ed, Frank & Jerry Kotrla and John Lorenc as well as three sisters: Emilie Jirasek, Emma Simcik and Frances Bertschler. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and greaet-great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were: Richard McKinney, Frank D. Kotrla, Bill McLeod, Edgar Wotipka, Charles Kotrla and Rueben Kotrla. Services were held by the Rev. James Hejl in the Condra Funeral Home in Taylor on Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. with interment in the Taylor City Cemetery.
