THE PARIS NEWS, Apr. 14, 2002 John Thomas 'Johnny' Montgomery, 67, of Paris died Thursday, April 11, 2002 at Christus St. Joseph's Hospital South at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received him into their care. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Westwood Church of Christ with Bro. Elmer L'Roy officiating. Burial will follow in Lamar County Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Montgomery was born Nov. 21, 1934 in Pilot Point the son of James J. and Faye Eloise Lawson Montgomery. He married Vonnie Kelsey on Nov. 14, 1968 in Bryan County, Okla. He had worked at Flex-O-Lite, was an auto mechanic, and for the past 11 years has worked for the Westwood Church of Christ, where he and his wife were members. He and his wife volunteered for nine years at Christians In Action. Survivors include his wife; one brother, Jim Montgomery of Duncanville, two sisters, Faye Duncan of Fort Worth and Irene Worley of Lone Star.
