Mollie R. Cockerham, 76, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Providence Hospital in Waco, Texas. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2015, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Steve Cowart officiated. Interment followed the services in Greenwood Cemetery. Mollie was born on September 27, 1938, in Waxahachie, Texas, to the late Roy and Pauline Robinson. She married Kenneth Gerald Cockerham on October 25, 1956; they later made their home in Teague, Texas. One of Mollie’s first jobs in Teague was at Barger’s Neighborhood Grocery. She later worked at Freestone County Title and Abstract before becoming an owner of C&D videos in Teague and Fairfield for which she and Kenneth were most known. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Kenneth Cockerham on January 25, 2006; an aunt, Ione Dark; a special cousin, Nancy Forbes; father and mother-in-law, Henry and Eva Cockerham; brothers-in-law, Elzy Cockerham and his wife, Pearl, and Charles Cockerham; sister and brother-in-law, Eva Faye Flandry and her husband, S.J. Survivors include her daughters, Monica Kirgan and her husband, Jeff, and Melissa Baxter and her husband, Mark, both of Teague; grandsons: Matt Kirgan, of Teague, Kyle Bradley, of Plano, Barrett Baxter and his wife, Jacey, of Austin, and Tim Baxter, of McKinney; great-grandson, Tristan Baxter, of McKinney; sister-in-law, Laverne Cockerham; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends; and last but not least Riley, her beloved dog.
