Leonard G. "Doc" Coble, a resident of Canyon Lake, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at the age of 88 years, 6 months, and 26 days. He was born in Fullbright on Dec. 6, 1917, Leonard Gordon "Doc" Coble was a son of William Ballard Coble and Etta Matilda (Perkins) Coble. Doc had worked as an electronics technician on aircraft. Surviving him are his wife, Lula Coble of Canyon Lake; his daughters, Linda Hitton of Henderson, N.M., and Mary Monceret of San Antonio; his sons, Gordon and Garland Coble, both of La Vernia; his sisters, Syble Alexander of Paris, Texas, and Laura Mae Jackson of Idaho; his brothers, Richard Coble of San Antonio and Bill Coble of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation took place on Sunday, July 2, beginning at 1 p.m. in the Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels. Services were held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Weidner Road Baptist Church in San Antonio with the Rev. Robert Bratton officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Vitas Hospice or to the Weidner Road Baptist Church.
