Marvin A. Schwebke, 61, Eldora, died Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Hospital at Rochester, Minn. Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora with the Rev. John Zimmerman officiating. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Andrle and Creps Funeral Home is in charge. Schwebke was born near Eldora in 1912. He graduated from Eldora High School and farmed in the Eldora area until retirement. He was married to Dorothy Carson at Eldora in 1937. He served as Hardin County Bin Supervisor for several years and was a Compliance Supervisor for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for six years. He was a life-long member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora, was active in the Democratic Party and a member of the Farmer's Union and of the Hardin County Cancer Society. Survivors include his widow, two daughters; Mrs. James (Sandra) Dowes, Jesup, Ga.; Mrs. John (Susan) Hass, Marshalltown; five grand-children; his mother, Mrs. Anna Schwebke, Eldora; one brother, Clarence, Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his father. Pall bearers will be Gerald Kangley, Marvin Granzow, Leonard Hoff-man, Jack Kangley, Lorez Kusserow and Lowell Granzow. from Marshalltown IA newspaper Times Republican dated March 20 1974
