Bio
Jack Richard Blevins, Sr., age 77, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at his home on May 13, 2024. He was born on January 26, 1947, in Tabor, Iowa, to Floyd and Ruth (Beers) Blevins. Jack was united in marriage on June 12, 1965, to Linda Polston, together they shared two children, Lori, and Jack. After Linda passed away in 2001, he met Jeanine Durr and the two were married in May of 2003. Throughout his life, Jack was known for his hard work and determination. He served in the Nebraska Army National Guard and had a successful career spanning various fields. In his early married years, Jack worked in a cattle feed lot, spent 14 years at Karl Khem Construction, and owned a painting business for 12 years. Jack spent 22 years at Lyman Richey, as a Plant Manager, before retiring in 2014. Even in retirement, Jack remained active, working for the City of Plattsmouth Parks Department. Outside of work, Jack had many passions. He enjoyed riding Harley motorcycles, fishing, and making trips to Sturgis. He was always willing to lend a hand and was known for his knack for fixing things, especially lawn mowers. Jack will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for his family, and his willingness to always lend a helping hand. He was preceded in death by his, parents, Floyd, and Ruth; his first wife, Linda; son, Jack, siblings, Virginia Blevins, Bob Blevins, Gerald Blevins, Betty Chapman, Rosemary Ringer, Floyd Blevins, and Donald Blevins; and stepson, Scott Schreiner. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Harvey Funeral Home Chapel, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, followed by burial at the Tabor Cemetery in Tabor, Iowa. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 1 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
