Bio

An Albion man, Roy Lester Morris, 52, died last Friday, June 4, at the University hospital in Omaha following heart surgery. Funeral services were yesterday (Tuesday) at the Levander Funeral Home in Albion with Rev. Wanda Clausen, Church of God pastor, officiating. M + M Francis Coleman sang, accompanied by Mrs. Herbert Knutson. Pallbearers were Roland Reich, Danny Berney, Stanley Stultz, Kenneth Smith Sr., Clifton Peterson and Richard Rutten. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Roy Lester Morris, son of Ray Morris and Minnie Stewart Morris, was born March 17, 1919 at Anselmo, Ne. On March 16, 1953 he was married to Ruby Kinzie. He worked for the State Department of Roads for 22 years until his retirement a few years ago because of ill health. Survivors are his widow Ruby, a son, Richard, and a daughter, Donna, at home, another daughter, Mrs. Dan (Vera) Cotton of Commerce City, Co., three brothers, Clarence of Aurora, Ralph of Omaha and Raymond of Commerce City, Co.; five sisters, Mrs. Howard (Flossie) Carter of Grand Island, Mrs. Clarence (Luella) Mock of Omaha, Mrs. William (Helen McGreer of Red Oak., Ia., Mrs. Waldo (Darlene) Hamblin of Mesa, Az., and Mrs. Elmer (Betty) Morris of Cottage Grove, Or. He was preceded in death by his parents. (Albion News – Albion, Nebraska – June 9, 1971)
