Herald Coaster, May 9, 1991: Funeral services for Fred Koenig, 81, of Rosenberg, are scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the First United Methodist Church in Rosenberg, with Dr. Bill Newcomb officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Koenig died May 8 at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 1, 1909 in Waelder to Ernest and Mary Koenig. For years, Mr. Koenig operated Koenig Welding Supply Company in Rosenberg. Survivors include his wife, Loma Koenig of Rosenberg; daughters, Sandra Dingler of Dallas and Carol Sue Hausler of Dallas; sons, Jim Koenig of Houston, Howard Koenig of Corpus Christi, and Gordon Koenig of Rosenberg; grandchildren, John and Kirk Enderby, Robert Wayne, Kelly Marie, and Howard Wayne Koenig, Jr.; brothers, Ernest Koenig of Beaumont, Ralph Koenig of Victoria, Johnny Koenig of Rosenberg, Robert Koenig of Needville, and Jack Koenig of Wharton; sisters, Mamie Powers of California and Mary Irvin of Seguin. Serving as pallbearers will be Robbie Koenig, Carlos Hendrick, John Ledford, Joe Grillo Jr., C.J. Overgoner, and Scott Dawson. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at Garmany & Carden Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The family will receive guests at the funeral home between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Services are under the direction of Garmany Carden Funeral Directors.
