Mary Virginnia (Kemp) Freeland Mary V. Freeland, 93, of Itasca and Dawson, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, in Italy, Texas. She was born August 17, 1928, in Itasca, Texas to Grover and Sophie (Miller) Kemp. A visitation service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the Chapel of Marshall and Marshall in Hillsboro. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Dawson United Methodist Church, 208 North Main Street, Dawson, Texas 76639, with Butch Boatright officiating. Mary graduated from Itasca High School in 1944. She was a drill team sponsor at Dawson High School and worked as a clerk/teller at First National Bank in Dawson for several years. She completed her working career at Mexia State School as a secretary. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, John F. Freeland; her second husband, Wayne Williams; her brothers, William, Wesley, Arbra, Elmo, and Grover, Jr.; and her sisters, Violet and Oneva. She is survived by her sons, LIVING; her grandchildren, LIVING; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her brother-in-law, Don Freeland.
