Bio

Doris Allen Cooper, 73, a native and resident of Summerdale, died Oct. 6, 2002 in a local nursing home. She was a member of the Summerdale United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Van Cooper of Loxley; one sister, Freida Hertel of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Urechl Allen Sr. of Summerdale and Roy Allen of Robertsdale; and her caregivers, Ralph and Wavolene Clopton of Summerdale. Services were held Oct. 9 at Mack Funeral Home's Robertsdale chapel with the Revs. Larry Trawick and Jim Batchelor officiating. Burial was in Wynn Cemetery in Summerdale. The family prefers that memorial donations be made to the Summerdale United Methodist Church Building Fund. Published in the Islander October 16, 2002
