"Bud I. Kudlacek, 88 years, of Grand Island, NE died Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Grand Island Veterans Home in Grand Island. Bud was born January 11, 1927 in Loma, Nebraska to Theodore and Christie (Ratkovec) Kudlacek. He grew up in the Loma and Brainard, NE area. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from Jan. 9, 1945 to July 15, 1946. Bud married Maxine F. Fujan September 22, 1949 in Prague, NE. Maxine died September 12, 1971. He farmed near Loma and later purchased a bar at Dwight, NE. Bud married Susie Minobe in December of 1979. The couple also lived at Omaha and North Platte, NE prior to moving to Grand Island, NE in March of 2014. Susie died June 2014. Bud was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 1504 of North Platte, NE and life member of the American Legion in Grand Island. He was a former member of V.F.W. Post #8223 of North Bend, American Legion Post #340 of Morse Bluff, Knights of Columbus at North Bend and former member of the North Bend Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by daughters, Connie Moser of Sacramento, CA and Caryn and husband, Robert Moser of North Bend, NE; son, Dwayne and wife, Judy Kudlacek of Holdrege, NE; ; step-son, Ron Minobe of North Platte, NE; brother, Albin and wife, Irma Kudlacek of Geneva, NE; sisters, Cris Fiedler of Ceresco, NE and Gladys and husband, Fred Hladik of Columbus, NE; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; brother, Ludvik and wife, Camilla Kudlacek and a great grandson. Funeral Mass 10:30 AM, Friday, July 17, 2015 at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend, NE. Burial in Woodland Cemetery near North Bend, NE with military honors conducted by members of V.F.W. Post #8223 and AmVets Post #20 of North Bend and American Legion Post #340 of Morse Bluff.
