NOTE; change of spelling of last name. ---------------------- Thanks to contributor #48796369 Louis James Roschynialski, 81, of Grand Island died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Hospital at Kearney. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Revs. Tom Ryan, José Chavez and Rod Pruss officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Rockville First Responders or Elba EMTs. Mr. Roschynialski was born on June 11, 1920, in Rockville to Joseph and Anna (Tyma) Roschynialski. He grew up in the Rockville area and attended Rockville Country schools. He married Ernestine Shuda on June 23, 1942, in Loup City. The couple farmed in the Wood River area. They later moved to Grand Island, where he was self-employed as a carpenter. In 1966 they moved to Elba, where they owned and operated Ruschy's Market. In 1969 they owned and operated the Elba Club Steakhouse. In 1970 the couple returned to Grand Island,where he continued to build residential homes until he retired at age 59 due to poor health. He then resided with special companion Yvette Dobyns. He was a lifetime member of the Fraternity of Eagles and enjoyed listening and dancing to Polka music. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Denis Kusek of Rockville and Edna and Allen Ingerle of Elba; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Traudel Roschynialski of Sky Valley, Calif.; companion, Yvette Dobyns; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; one grandson; four sisters, Domecella Slobaszewski, Elizabeth Tryba, Barbara Silver and Agnes Woltman, and three brothers: John, Stanley and Tony.
