Sister Alberta Krebs, O.S.B., 83, died at Holy Angels Convent in Jonesboro, Ark., on Thursday, June 8, 2006. She was born on a farm outside of Durant, Okla. on April 9, 1923. She grew up in Lindsay and from there entered Holy Angels Convent in 1937. Sister Alberta made her first profession in 1940 and Final Profession in 1944. She celebrated her Silver Jubilee in 1965, her Golden in 1990, and her 60th in 2000. Her major area of ministry has been in education. She held a B.S. in education from St. Mary College in Xavier, Kan., with additional training in language therapy. She enjoyed and was very successful working with children with dyslexia. In addition to teaching 50 years in the elementary school, she spent 4 years helping with the cooking at St. John's Seminary in Little Rock. She also worked 8 years in Pastoral Care in St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro before retiring 3 years ago. Sister Alberta taught school in Benton, Blytheville, Engelberg, Jonesboro, Little Rock, Paragould, Pocahontas, West Memphis, Muenster and Rhineland. Her favorite hobbies include music, growing flowers, sewing, quilting and fishing. Survivors include her brother, Raymond Krebs of Coalgate, Okla.; and sister, Kathryn Nokusille of Wellston, Okla. The Mass of Christian Burial was conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 10 in Holy Angels Convent Chapel with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial followed in Mt.
