Monday afternoon at the Methodist church funeral rites were held for Mrs. Frank Krahulik, respected Ord woman who died Thursday, Febr. 18, at her home here after a long illness. She was 75 years of age. Rev. B. A. Filipi, of Clarkson, conducted the obsequies and the Hastings-Zikmund funeral home had charge of arrangements. Burial to be in Ord Cemetery. Mrs. Krahulik, nee Anna Vnuk, was born July 24, 1867 in Lhotka Okres Kourin, Karj Caslav, Bohemia, and came to America with her parents at the age of 11, settling in Colfax County, Nebraska. On Sept 6, 1888 she was married to Frank Krahulik and for some time they lived on a farm near Scribner, moving four years later to Clarkson where Mr. Krahulik had a hardware business. Later they came to Valley County to make their home, on a farm 12 miles west of Ord. In 1915, they moved to Ord which was her home until death. She was an active member of the ZCBJ lodge until her failing health prevented her from leading an active life in the local chapter, and for many years was a member of the Happy Hour club. Poor health was Mrs. Krahulik's lot for several years before her death, but she met suffering with the same quiet courage which characterized her entire life. Her daughter, Bess Krahulik devoted her time in recent years to caring for her mother. Mr. Krahulik preceded his wife in death, as did four sons, Frank, Charles, Lumir and John. Left to mourn are two sons, Leo, of Roy, Mont., and Rudolph, of Ord, and five daughters, Mrs. Anna Parkos, Mrs. Floyd Wozniak and Miss Bess Krahulik of Ord; Mrs. John Beran, of Lubbock, Tex; and Mrs. M. R. Heacock, of Oakland, Calif. There also are two sisters, Mrs. Antonia Wostoupal, of West Point, and Mrs. Charles Renter, of Omaha, and three half-brothers, Frank, Joe and Louis Hron. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
