Bio

Lynette R. "Nette" Dietz, 53, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at her home. She was born March 12, 1962, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Emil and Mary Joan (Close) Schmidt. She married Don Dietz on June 16, 1979 in Cedar Falls. She was employed by the Waterloo Community School District at Bunger Middle School in Evansdale and currently Central Middle School as a clerk typist in the library. Lynette enjoyed spending time with family and her dogs, Henna and Drake; camping; gardening; drawing; and fishing in Minnesota while watching and listening to the loons. Survived by: her husband of Waterloo; a son, Zacary (Sara) Dietz of Cedar Falls; one grandson, Nickolas Dietz; her father, Emil Schmidt of Cedar Falls; two sisters, Luann (Dewain) Benson of Waterloo and Cheri (Gary) Monaghan of Waverly; mother-in-law, Anneliese Brooks of Cedar Falls; sister-in-law, Wendy (Harold) Runkle of Janesville; and two brothers-in-law, Herb Dietz of Cedar Falls and Greg (Cathie) Dietz of Waterloo. Preceded in death by: her mother. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Waterloo, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, Cedar Falls. Visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, and also for one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls.
