AURORA — Bea Hartzell, 82, of Aurora passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Memorial Community Care after a brief illness. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 11, at Messiah Lutheran Church. The Rev. Ron Harris will officiate. Inurnment will be at Aurora Cemetery. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Benilda Marie Hartzell, the daughter of Ben and Marguerite (Orendorff) Budler, was born in Hampton, Neb., on Nov. 25, 1932, and passed away in Aurora, Neb., on May 6, 2015, at the age of 82. She grew up in Hampton and graduated from Hampton High School. Bea was married to Robert “Bob” Hartzell on Jan. 13, 1953. In 1955, they moved to California and returned to Aurora in 1968, which is when Bea opened Hartzell Upholstery. She was still working 47 years later at a business she loved. She enjoyed and appreciated all of the customers that patronized her business over the years. Bea was very active in the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching golf on television and going for her daily coffee at Casey’s. Bea loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jack Budler. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her four children, Cindy (Tom) Schroeder of Aurora, Cathy (George) Cargill of Grand Island, Phil (Lorie) Hartzell of Hastings and Doug Hartzell of Lincoln; nine grandchildren, Kevin, David, Angela, Kristi, Robby, Jenna, Eric, Kari and Ben ;and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by five sisters, Marietta Callahan of South Dakota, Donnebelle Potter of Lincoln, Melania Thomson of Archer, Ramona Roberts of Malcolm and Bonita Zorn of Montrose, Colo., and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Budler of Chadron.
