Bio
George W. Wilson was the son of William W. and Mary Wilson of Jackson and DeKalb Co., Alabama. He was married in 1850 to Elizabeth Darwin. They were the parents of seven known children; Orpha Larena, Sarah Jane, William Washington, Lemuel Gilliam, James Adney, and twins George and Susan Elizabeth "Bettie" Wilson. Records show Miltary burial at Fort Davis, Texas Post Cemetary. U.S., Military Burial Registers, 1768-1921 His younger brother Albert J. Wilson also appears there on the 1870 census and apparently died there; Rev. Albert J. Wilson June 6, 1837 - Aug. 28, 1890, Wilson Cemetery, Greenview, Hopkins County, Texas. No burial is listed for George Wilson. He may have traveled with Elizabeth and their children to Missouri at or near the time of his mother-in-law's death, but he is not mentioned in her extensive probate records and was probably deceased by 1877.
