Pleasant Grove Review, Pleasant Grove, Utah, 25 Jun 1954 Lawrence Dale Fugal, son of Christian A. and Delilah Richardson Fugal of Pleasant Grove, was accidentlly killed Friday, June 18, at Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Fugal was struck by the boom of a crane while in the employ of the Stephens Southern Well Drilling Company. He was rushed to a Jacksonville Hospital, but died two hours later. His wife, the former Lucile Saunders of Jacksonville, and their two children William Dale, 9, and Rebecca Lois, 4, were visiting in Pleasant Grove at the time of the accident. She, the two children, and a brother-in-law Bryan Fugal, left Salt Lake City by plane, Saturday, to attend funeral services in the Sea Shoal Funeral Parlor in Jacksonville. Burial was in the Jacksonville Hedgwood Cemetery. Lawrence Dale Fugal was born in Pleasant Grove, February 28, 1923. He was a graduate of the Pleasant Grove High School and the Timpanogos Stake Seminary; and at the time of his death was an elder in the LDS Church. He enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps, September 1942, and served in the Japanese Theatre during World War II. In addition to his parents, wife, and children, he is survived by the following brothers and sisters:: Bryan, Bruce Fugal, and Mary Fugal Richardson, of Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Ira (Leah) Huntsman, of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Mrs. Merrill (Delilah) Bunker, of Bunkerville, Nevada.
