Gladys I. Henderson, 94, of Ft. Collins, CO and formerly of Gibbon, and Kearney, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the LeMay Avenue Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Collins, CO. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Kearney. Rev. Robert Perry will officiate and burial will be at Kearney Cemetery. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements. She was born July 3, 1920 in Cambridge, NE to Henry and Gesina (Johnson) Riefesel. She moved to the family farm northwest of Hildreth at the age of 4. She attended Rural District 38 in Kearney County then Wilcox Public School. On August 23, 1943 she married Merwyn L Henderson. The couple lived in Kearney and owned and operated Arrowhead Trailer Court from 1950 – 1965 and then Gladys worked at USave grocery store until retiring in 1982. She moved to Gibbon in 2008 then to Fort Collins, CO in 2013. Gladys was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Kearney and enjoyed playing the piano and organ and quilting. She was also a member of the quilting club she started in the 1940’s and a past member of the Buffalo County Historical Society. She was a girl scout leader for 5 years during her girl’s elementary years. Survivors include daughters, Kathaleen Fulmer and husband Kenny of Mesa, AZ, Janet Keller of Fort Collins, CO; grandchildren, Ricky Fulmer and wife Jennifer of Holland, MI and great grandchildren Lindsay Gust and husband Charles and great great granddaughter Olivia and Nicholas Fulmer, Rodney Fulmer and wife Bonnie of Kearney, NE and great grandchildren Brittney and Nathan, Rachelle Spencer and husband Charles of Gibbon, NE and great grandchildren Cody and Elizabeth, Christopher Keller and wife Tracy of Longmont, CO and great grandchildren Sarah, Matthew and Cuyler, Cari Walters and husband Geoffrey of Brighton, CO and great grandchildren Ian and Evan. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000, 1 great grandchild, Ashley Fulmer and sister, Evelyn Fankell in 2011.
