Born April 5, 1923 in Toquerville, Utah to John Thomas and Eva Florence Slack Beatty. Married Howard Leon Fish July 12, 1941, in Lomita, California. He was killed May 29, 1956. Married James M. Carroll December 31, 1960, in Elko, Nevada. Bessie grew up and attended school in Toquerville. Graduated from Hurricane High School in May, 1941. Former resident of California, Richfield, Cedar City and St. George. Active member LDS Church serving in various positions. She was a gifted pianist and played at many school, civic and church functions. Survived by children: Leon and Connie Fish, Mesa, Arizona; Ashley and Marie Fish, Tacoma, Washington; Jon B. and Shauna Fish, Orangevale, California; Raneva and John Lemon, Midway; Howard and Vickie Fish, Kearns; Kevin and Lanette Fish, Francis; Cathi and Jerry Van Leuven, Katy, Texas. 28 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Dennis Beatty, Lewis Beatty, Hurricane; Evadeen Robison, Riverton; Kathleen Emett, Enterprise. Preceded in death by 16 brothers and sisters. Funeral services Thursday 11 a.m. in the Heber 7th Ward (240 E. 400 S.). Friends may call at Olpin Mortuary (288 N. Main, Heber City) Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and at the church Thursday one hour prior to services. Burial Toquerville Cemetery at 11 a.m. Friday.
