Delores Marie St. Louis was born to Peter A. and Teckla Grudzinski on June 18, 1911 near the small farming community of Ashton. She attended both country and parochial Schools where English became her primary language rather than her native Polish language. After graduating from the 8th Grade, she focused on the chores of the family farm during the Great Depression years. The family loved music, and dancing, especially the polka; it was her very favorite activity. In August of 1937, she married Frank J. Adamek of Ord. After brief stops in Littleton, Colo. and Vernal, Utah, they settled in Craig, Colo. for the next 30 years before divorcing in 1967. Two sons, Jerry of Denver and Gene of Craig came from this union. She worked as a nanny and retail sales, especially women's clothing for local merchants until the early 1950's when she discovered her talents and love of the floral business. In 1955, Delores purchased Spette's Flower Shop, renamed it Florette's Flowers and operating from a Breeze Street location. Delores married Sinclair St. Louis in 1969. They happily remained in Craig, still operating the flower shop. She continued with the floral business a total of 55 years until finally closing Florette Flowers in 2010, when she was 90 years of age. She remained in Craig until September 2013, when for health issues she moved to Denver. She loved all the activity especially stage performances, movies, and outdoor concerts and was already ready to play Dominoes and Canasta really brought her competitiveness. She was a 75-year devoted parishioner of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Craig, where she was involved with the Alter and Rosary Society, she became a member of Our Lady of Loreto in Foxfield. She also actively participated in all Catholic services at Shalom Park Center. During her time in Craig, she actively supported both husbands' involvement with Elks#1577. She was incredibly proud of her family, close to her two sons and their wives, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her Nebraska family was also very important to her, especially her sister, Aileen Zeleski, and brother, Arnold Grudzinski, of Loup City, Ne. who survived her. She is also survived by sons, Jerry (Cindy) Adamek of Denver, and Gene (JoAnn) of Craig, four grandchildren Christopher (Heather) Adamek of Lake Oswego, Ore.; Julie (Tim) Winters of Pueblo West; Cari Adamek of Portland, Ore. and Jill (Brandon) Gorab of Enid, Okla. Her parents preceded her in death along with three brothers, Lloyd, Sigmund, and Eugene. The Sherman County Times - Apr 15 2015
