Born Lzin, Bohemia Maiden name and birth date is Correct per multiple sources including family and church parish records. Daughter of Jakub Dudarek and Marie Vopava emigrated with Pavel and Anna (Vopava) Sticha Mrs. Eva Sticha, one of the pioneer residents of this community, passed away at the home of her daughter in New Prague where she had been residing for the past three years. She had suffered a fractured hip in a fall and due to complications accompanying old age she died on Friday, January 28, at the age of 87. Mrs. Sticha was born in Bohemia on Dec 19, 1858. She arrived in America at the age of 3 with her family who settled near Veseli. She was later married to Mathias Sticha who preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Anne’s society. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James Zvanovec of New Prague, Mrs. Thomas Jindra of Shieldsville. Four children, Frank, Joseph, James, Christine, and five foster children, Mathias, John, Thomas, Anna and Mary preceded her in death. Funeral services were held from the church of St. Wenceslaus on Monday, January 31, at 10:00 a. m. Rev. C. Popelka officiated. Pallbearers were: Rudolph Sticha, Mathias Flicek, John H. Schoeneker, Joseph Pecholt, John J. Novotny and Wenceslaus Kucera. Interment took place in Lonsdale cemetery. Relatives and friends from out of town included Tony Franek, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Oscarson, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Pench, all of St. Paul and relatives and friends from Lonsdale and surrounding communities. - The New Prague Times (New Prague, MN) February 13, 1944, Pg 1, Col 4
