Bio
A rosary was recited at 8 p. m. Monday, Aug. 24, 1998 for Louise Hurta Loff, 80, of Carancahua Community, at the Palacios Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass was at 4 p. m. Tuesday, Aug. 25 at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Chapel in Palacios, Rev. Charles Dwomoh officiating. Interment followed at the Palacios Cemetery. Loff died Saturday, Aug. 22 in Port Lavaca. She was born Nov. 9, 1917 in Deutschburg Community to Joseph Hurta and Kathryn Musical Hurta. She was a lifelong member of the Deutschburg and Carancahua Community area. She was also a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, of the Altar Society, the Legion of Mary, the Catholic Daughters, S. P. J. S. T., the Home Demonstration Club of the Matagorda County Extension Service, and a former 4-H leader. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvid Loff on May 13, 1998, one grandchild, Christopher Arvid Loff in 1986, one sister, Mary Jane Kansas, and four brothers; Joseph Hurta, Louis Hurta, Tony Hurta and Charles Hurta.
