Mr. R.C. “Tut” Rich age 86, of Crockett, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at his home. He was born April 18, 1930 in Percilla, Texas to parents, Robert and Clara Susan Foster Rich. He was a graduate of Crockett High School and a member of the Houston Police Department Cadet Class #12. He retired from the Houston Police Department as a detective, after 24 years of service and served as an investigator for the Houston County District Attorney’s Office for 7 years. He was a past Master of the Grapeland Masonic Lodge # 473, and past president of the Houston Police Officer Association. R.C. was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Rich; parents, Robert F. and Clara Susan Foster Rich; siblings, Lois Shanks, Fred Rich, Elvis Rich, and Martha Brooks. “Tut” was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather to his family and was always very proud and supportive of their interests and activities. He and his wife, Betty had a passion for traveling. He enjoyed working in his yard and his Masonic Lodge activities. He could be found most days on his porch or working in his yard. He enjoyed staying in touch with his fellow retired police officers. Graveside funeral services for R.C. “Tut” Rich will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 at 10 am in the Muse Cemetery with Rev.
