Bio

The Mapleton Press, 8 December 1977: Bertha Reinbold of Mapleton, the daughter of Valentine and Elizabeth Heintz Kroll, was born January 13, 1886, in Shelby County, Iowa. She died at the Maple Heights Nursing Home at Mapleton on November 27, 1977, having reached the age of 91 years, 10 months and 14 days. She moved to Mapleton from Alton, Iowa, as a child and lived the remainder of her life around Mapleton. She married Leopold Reinbold at Mapleton on February 9,1904. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rosary was recited on November 29, 1977, at 7:30 p.m. Services were held November 30, 1977, 10:00 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church at Mapleton with Rev. Walter Bruch officiating. Burial was in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Mapleton. Pallbearers were John Reinbold, Cliff Uhl, Gene Collins, Ray Friedrichsen, Dick Reinbold and Larry Bunch. Survivors include one son, Edwin R. of Sioux City; five daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Mercedes) Uhl, Sr. of Danbury; Mrs. Mack (Devota) Meroney of Houston, Texas; Mrs. Al (Armella) James of Spring Hill, Florida, Mrs. Alex (Violet) Challis of Spring Hill, Florida, Mrs. James (Olive) Harrell of Herdow, Virginia; one brother, Albert Kroll of Bakersfield, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Charles (Viola) Heid of Clackamas, Oregon; 23 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, five brothers, three sisters, one grandson, and one great-granddaughter.
