Bio

The Mapleton Press, 19 May 1955: Funeral services for Leopold A. Reinbold, 75, a retired Mapleton farmer, who died at his home, Saturday, May 14, 1955, were held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic church. Rosary was recited Monday at 8 p.m. at the Byers-Walter chapel. Rev A.H. Ocken officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were John Kemp, Alex Schoenherr, John Theobald, Wm. Babl, Frank Farrell, and Wm. Eckerman. Mr. Reinbold was born April 25, 1880, in Bainbridge, Michigan, and came to Monona county as a small boy. He farmed in this vicinity until 1943 when his health forced his retirement and he moved to Mapleton. He married Bertha Kroll February 9, 1904, at Mapleton. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and its Holy Name society. Surviving are the widow; a son, Edwin, of Kingsley; six daughters, Mrs. Clifford Uhl of Mapleton; Mrs. Mack Meroney of Houston, Texas; Mrs. Armella McDonald of Baltimore, Maryland; Mrs. Norma Bench of Port Huron. Michigan;, Mrs. Alex Challis of Maple Shade, New Jersey; and Mrs. James Harrell of Washington, DC; 16 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph of Mapleton and Charles of Sioux City.
