Bio
Cecilia M. Nemec Sypal was born October 24, 1924 to Vaclav and Marie (Hobza) Nemec at Prague, and died May 29, 2006. She attended St. John's School in Prague and graduated from Prague High School in 1941. She attended business school and later worked as a secretary. She married Valerian B. Sypal May 4, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Cedar Hill. She was a homemaker and resided in Butler County most of her life. Cece was a member of Assumption Church, Dwight, the church Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, Catholic Workman, Dwight Good Neighbors Extension club, and was a 4-H leader. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Dennis Sypal; an infant sister, Marie; a sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Al Sypal, and one brother, Cyril Nemec. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Barbara Sypal of Columbus, Kenneth and Dru Sypal and Steve and Wendy Sypal, all of Lincoln, Dan and Jan Sypal of David City, David Sypal of Dwight; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Katherine and Gary Eckrich of Lincoln; a brother and sister-in-law, Adolph and Gladys Nemec of Prague; a daughter-in-law, Eliana Sypal of California; sisters-in-law, Eve-lyn Nemec of Dwight and Ann (Sypal) Kudlacek of Elkhorn; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held June 2 at Assumption Catholic Church, Dwight. Burial was at Assumption Cemetery, Dwight.
