Julie was born in Wallis to parents, Betty Macha and Frank Petrash. Her parents raised a large family of seven daughters and two sons. Julie married Charles Mlcak,and they moved and lived in Galveston the majority of their married life until his retirement. While living in Galveston Julie worked for the Lipton Tea Company and was Cafeteria Manager for the Galveston School District for many years. After retirement, they enjoyed traveling in a camper for several years, meeting relatives and friends at several destinations until they build a home in Frydek. Julie and Charlie loved to go dancing, and listening to Czech bands. They were avid bowlers and were members of various teams while in Galveston. She loved to play dominoes, loved to laugh, love jokes, and loved to watch sports. She had a sweet nature and made friends wherever she went. Julie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Frydek, Austin County, Texas where she was a member of KJZT and Altar Societies. At the yearly Grotto Celebrations, Julie helped bake kolaches, and made barbeque sandwiches. She loved her church and knew almost everyone there. Julie is survived by her son and his wife, and grandson, and two great granddaughters and five sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. Julie, 89 years, was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Annie Mlcak, and brothers, Frank and Raymond Petrash. At the time of her death, she was living at The Villa at Savory Springs, a personal care home in Katy, Waller County, Texas. The services for Julie were on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Frydek, Texas, starting with visitation at 9:30 am, Rosary at 10:30, and the service at 11:00 am. Father Thu Le, and Deacon Jerome Losack, Sr. officiated. Jim Havel gave a very nice eulogy. Pallbearers were her son, grandson, and nephews. Graveside service at St. Mary's Cemetery, and lunch followed at the hall at St. Mary's. Compiled from Julie's Obit and the "Celebrating the Life of Julie Mlcak" booklet.
