Bio

Rose Cuba Rose Cuba passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 in Wichita Falls, Texas. A Rosary will be held beginning at 10:00 AM, on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Megargel, Texas, the funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 AM, followed by the burial at the Megargel Cemetery. Her devoted grand-nephew, Rev. Barry Cuba, will be Celebrant along with dear family friend Deacon Jim Novak. The funeral is under the direction of Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Chris Cuba, John Henry Cuba, Mike Cuba, Don Hall, Kellen Hall and Stephen Musil. She was born on August 15, 1920, in Megargel, Archer County, Texas, to John and Rosalie (Darilek) Cuba. Rose attended school in Megargel, Texas and later earned a GED. During World War II, she worked at a helicopter plant and at Consolidated Manufacturing Company in Fort Worth, Texas. After the war, she proudly worked in the payroll department for the Fort Worth and Denver Railroad Company, later known as Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad in Fort Worth and in Denver, Colorado. After retirement, she lived in Fort Worth, Texas where she was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. In 2011, she moved to Wichita Falls, Texas where she resided at Royal Estates and was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, O.J. Cuba, and sisters, Lydia Cuba and Angeline Cuba Hajek. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Musil, Frances Quinlan and Georgia Hall; her brothers, Joe Cuba, Stanley Cuba, Johnnie Cuba, Jim Cuba, and Henry Cuba. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was a dear sister, God-mother, and aunt to her loving large family. The family is most grateful for the care and support of the team at Hospice of Wichita Falls, PO Box 4804, Wichita Falls, TX 76308-0804 and encourages memorials to them in Rose Cuba’s name.
