Alice Turner Lance was born in Mitchell county, Kan., Oct. 4, 1878, and died in Kearney, Neb., Feb. 16, 1918, after an illness of about four years .... She loved her family, especially her little children was her one thought, and what would become of them. She leaves a husband, Chas. Lance of Kearney, Neb., also eleven children, eight sons and three daughters, a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Turner, four brothers, Thomas Turner of Holton, Henry Turner of Holton, John Turner of St. Joseph, Mo., Charles Turner of Soldier; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Taylor, of Sioux City, Iowa, besides many friends. The Holton Recorder, February 21, 1918. .... The remains were buried in the Holton cemetery .... The Holton Signal, February 28, 1918.
