James Robert Nors, 55, of Abbott, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015, at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m., Sunday, April 5, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption by Rev. Stephen Nesrsta, followed by visitation until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, April 6, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. James was born in Hillsboro, Texas, to Robert and Marie (Neckar) Nors. He attended schools in Abbott and was a 1978 graduate of Abbott High School. On July 14, 1979, he was united in marriage to Cathy Wolf in West. James was a dairy farmer for over 35 years and owner of the James R. Nors Dairy. He was also owner of Nors Market in Abbott and worked for M&M Mars for 14 years. James was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. He enjoyed taking care of his cows, pigs and chickens on the farm and loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; a brother, Michael Nors; a nephew, Justin Waters; and father-in-law, Joe A. Wolf. Survivors include his wife, Cathy Nors, of Abbott; daughter, Katie Alexander and husband, Jimmy, of Abbott; sons, Aaron Nors and wife, Andrea, of Abbott, and Joshua Nors and wife, Stephanie, of West; parents, Robert and Marie Nors, of Abbott; grandchildren: Sarah, Kylee, Joseph, Alice, Dillan, Rachel, Adam, and Jacob; brothers: Richard Nors and wife, Thi, David Nors and wife, Tammie, Matthew Nors and wife, Julie, and Kevin Nors and wife, Karleen; sister, Carolyn Waters and husband, Robin; mother-in-law, Helen Wolf; sisters-in-law: Kelly Nors, Carolyn Muska, and Brenda Schmidt and husband, Richard; brother-in-law, Jody Wolf and wife, Laura; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
