Bio
Daughter of Frank & Edna (Thompson) Bedke. Was educated in rural Buffalo County; attended beauty school in Grand Island. Married: June 1, 1954, to Howard Lux in Grand Island; lived in Ravenna. Worked as a beautician, then followed her husband during his military service to Africa for three years; later worked as a nurses aide at Good Samaritan Center, built campers and managed Intermotel Leasing for 14 years until retiring; also served as police matron for several years. Activities: enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandkids. Survivors include her husband; son, Rollie of Kearney; daughters, Sue Betke of Ravenna and Barbara Lemburg of Aurora; brother, Sam Bedke of North Platte; sisters, Marlene Tatman of North Platte and Lois Varley of Wood River; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren; also daughter-in-law, Becky Lux of Kearney; and sons-in-law, Duane Betke of Ravenna and Gene Lemburg of Aurora. Was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
