Herald Coaster, December 28, 1979: Funeral services for Philip Oliver, 73, of Rosenberg, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Garmany and Carden Funeral Directors Chapel in Rosenberg. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery in Rosenberg. Oliver died Thursday in a Houston hospital. He was a driver of a cement truck. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Philip Oliver of Rosenberg; three sons, James Poncik of Sugar Land, Philip Oliver Jr. of Sulphur, La., and Jerry Poncik of Rosenberg; four daughters, Betty Lou Oliver of Lafayette, La., Dorothy Mae Dvorak of Houston, Helen Lang of Houston, and Bessie Vaughn of Houston; four brothers, Mike Oliver of Albuquerque, N.M., Ernest Oliver, Anthony Oliver, and Richard Oliver; and three sisters, Alta Olivers, Liena Q. Martinez, and Fela O. Cerna. Friends may call after noon Friday at the Garmany and Carden Chapel in Rosenberg.
