Bio

EDDIE "BUD" C. BAKER, age 75 of Santa Fe, Texas passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 with his loving family by his side. Bud was born August 18, 1939 in Temple, Texas and was a resident of Santa Fe, Texas for 42 years. He retired from Amoco in Texas City after 30 years of service. He was employed by DXP in Houston, Texas at the time of his passing. Bud is preceded in death by his parents, James and Inez Baker and his brother Arvie Baker. Bud is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Sue Baker; son Jason Baker and wife Terri of Pearland, Texas; son Wesley Baker and wife Stacey of Santa Fe, Texas; bonus sons, Kenny Franks and wife Sara of Weatherford, Texas and Mikel Manis and wife Callie of Alvin, Texas; brother JD Baker and wife Shirley of Santa Fe; sister Betty Williams of Santa Fe; sister Janet Gray and husband Revis of Rusk, Texas; sister Dorothy Baker of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister in law, Sherry Baker; grandchildren Justin Sumrall, T.J Baker, Stormy Baker, Kevin Baker, Bailey Baker, Lane Baker and Shelby Baker, and many more he loved as his own grandchildren; God daughter Jackie Gregory of Austin, Texas, and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends. Bud enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family and living a simple life. He enjoyed hunting, doing woodwork, cooking brisket and flying his American flag. He lived his life the way he chose. Bud began his education in Texas City and graduated in 1958. Soon after, Bud joined the United Stated Navy and proudly served until 1962. Bud married Evelyn Sue Baker in August 1965 and their wonderful journey began. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and the funeral will be Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Scott Funeral Home located at 1421 E. HWY 6, Alvin, Texas 77511. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery, 10708 Highway 6, Santa Fe, Texas 77510. Services will be officiated by Stan Whittington. Pallbearers will be Justin Sumrall, T.J Baker, Kevin Baker, Joe Melvin Jarosek, Revis Gray, Wayne Gregory and Honorary Pallbearer, Christian Stites. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
