Her parents Joseph Schiller and Frances Dusek arrived from Bohemia, Czec h Republic in 1881. They settled in Travis County, Texas. Frances Schiller was born 15 December 1886 near Manda in the same area. She was baptized 13 May 1888 in the Elgin Brethren Church. 18 December 1907 Frances married Emil Paul Kruger also of Travis County. Three daughters and one son were born. This couple was among the original founders of the S.P.J.S.T organization in Elgin. Shortly after moving to Elgin into a home built by her husband and his brothers, her husband had a fatal heart attack. She remained active for 26 more years. She was known for her making noodles, lye soap, quilts and many Czech pastries including kolaches. Her youngest daughter and her husband lived in the house with her and also her daughter Ruby and two daughters. She later built a new brick home in Elgin.
