Jess' Texas Death Certificate indicates he is interred here. In the 1900 U.S. Census for Chichasaw Nation, Indian Territory (Oklahoma), Jess is living with his father: Thomas Townsend (b. Feb. 1852, TN) and mother: Tennessee Townsend (b. Nov. 1854, TN); also his siblings, Wesley (b. Sep. 1889, TN), Catherine (b. Sep. 1894, TN) and Annie (b. Aug. 1898, TN). In the 1910 U.S. Census for Okmulgee, Okmulgee Co., OK Jess, age 25, is residing in the county jail (5-16-1910). In his WWI Draft Registration Card, Jess is a cook in Coconino Co., AZ. His mother, Tennessee, is still living in Okmulgee, OK (9-12-1918). In the 1920 U.S. Census of Jones Co., TX Jess is helping his in-laws, Frank William Kutack (b. 2-9-1859, TX), Antonia "Tonie" (Novobilsky) Kutack (b. 1870, Germany) on the farm and is married to Frank's daughter Emelia "Emma" Frances Kutack (b. 1891, TX). At the time of Jess' death, he and Emma had only one child, Bill (b. 9-18-1920, Jones Co., TX). In the 1930 U.S. Census of Jones Co., TX, Jess's widow, Emma, is still living with her widowed father. In the 1940 U.S. Census of Jones Co., TX, Jess's widow, Emma, is still living with her widowed father, Frank and with her son, Bill and his wife Louise.
