Smith married Ona Barnes on April 22, 1906. ******************************************* OBITUARY FROM THE DAILY ARDMOREITE, Ardmore, Oklahoma, Wed., Nov. 26, 1969 MARIETTA -- Services for Charlie C. Smith, 85, will be Thursday in the Church of Christ here. Officiating will be Bro. Floyd Johnson. Burial will be in the Eastman Cemetery under the direction of Goodrich Funeral Home. Smith, 405 NW 3rd Ave., died Tuesday in an Ardmore hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born March 22, 1884 in Texas, and had lived in Love County since early childhood. A retired farmer, Smith was a member of the Church of Christ for many years. Survivors include his wife, Ona, of the home; a son, Adrian Smith, Dallas; six daughters, Leatrice Palmer and Beatrice Stinson, both of Marietta; Edna Jones, Hurst, Tex.; Audrey Davis, Bakersfield, Calif.' Lorene Kile, Gainesville, and Estelline Moreau, San Bernardino, Calif.; a brother, Bryant Smith, Midwest City; two sisters, Inez Bigham, Ardmore, and Della Bigham, Marietta; 24 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
