Neill Nolan (Jack) McMillan Neill Nolan (Jack) McMillan, age 94, of Valley Mills and Cayote community was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, in a local hospital surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Cayote Methodist Church. Interment will be at the Valley Mills Cemetery with full military honors under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Visitation will be 5 - 7 P.M. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Valley Mills. In lieu of flowers family has requested memorials to either Valley Mills Fire Department or Cayote Methodist Church. Jack was born January 1, 1921, in Cayote, Texas, to John and Mattie (Bearden) McMillan. He married Christine Sadler on January 27, 1940, in Mosheim. They welcomed their son John Nolan McMillan on August 21, 1952. Jack was a veteran of World War II serving in Troop H, 12th Calvary. He spent his life farming and ranching until he went into the hospital. He was a pillar of the community and was loved by all who knew him. He volunteered in several organizations and was the cook at all the Valley Mills Fire Volunteer Department Fund raising events. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Virgil (Mac) McMillan, Edwin (Buck) McMillan; sisters: Florence Sadler and Joyce Higginbotham. Jack is survived by his wife of 75 years, Christine; son: John Nolan McMillan and wife Scarlett; grandchildren: Clint McMillan and Amanda Bartlett, Lindsay McMillan, Lauren Poston and husband Jeffrey, Lindsey Stinson and husband Michael, Zachary Hogeda and fiancé Kara Marnach, Cody Reeves and wife Charla; great grandchildren: Niellee Plemons, Landon McMillan, Gage Morse, Lakyn Stinson, Jack Ryan Poston, several nieces and nephews. Family would like to express a special thanks to Shirley McMillan, Buck Alambar, and Barbara Brown for their devoted and loving care to Jack and Christine.
