Bio

Anna Durbin Galetka, 84, of Ennis, passed away on February 26, 2015. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2015, the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2015, in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery of Ennis. Anna Frances was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late Gus and Naomi (Lindle) Durbin. She graduated from St. John High School in 1948 and was married to Joe John Galetka on September 2, 1950. Anna was employed by Ennis Business Forms, St. John’s School Cafeteria, Quality Inn and catered for over 29 years. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and served as the First Regent for the Catholic Daughters Court Our Lady of the Bluebonnets. Anna began singing at the age of 11 and was a member in the Requiem Choir at St. John’s Catholic Church. She was an avid sports fan and was especially fond of the Texas Rangers. Anna loved vacationing with her family, reading, crocheting, and quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe John; brothers, Jimmy, Mark Anthony, and infant Joseph Durbin; sisters, Sister Sylvan Durbin, Elizabeth Holland, Clara Rita Peveto, and infant Anna Ruth Durbin. Survivors include her daughters, Joann McClelland, Cathy Lepthien and husband, Keith, and Suzie Betik and husband, Steve; sons, Joe Galetka, Jr. and wife, Sheila, and Mark Galetka and wife, Barbara; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Anna Jo Durbin and Georgie Galetka; nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful extended family and friends.
