John Thomas Workman John Thomas Workman, 52, of Portland and formerly of Corpus Christi, died at 10:45 p.m. yesterday at his home, following a brief illness. He had lived in Portland two years, had lived in Corpus Christi since 1935. He was a longshoreman and a native of Jacksonville, Fla. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church, Oso Naval Masonic Lodge, International Longshoreman's Associaton No. 1224 and Boilermakers Union No. 577. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, and two sons, John T. Workman and William Lee Workman, of Portland; four daughters, Mrs. Dora Mae McManus, Mrs. Betty Kocurek and Mrs. Pauline Priddy, all of Corpus Christi, and Mrs. Johnnie Elnora Hanna of Victoria; three brothers, Paul Workman of Houston, William Workman of Jacksonville, Fla., and Benjamin Workman of Corpus Christi; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Stuart and Mrs. Doa Mock of Mission, Mrs. Ruth Schoening of San Antonio and Mrs. Margaret Rachael of Beaumont, and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Clifford Jackson Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Cecil Harper, a Baptist minister from Mission and formerly at Calallen First Baptist church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Marvin Howard, pastor of Westwood Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, with graveside services by the Oso Masonic Lodge. Pallbearers will be R. J. Veazey, Clark Dickson, Robert Flanagan, George Hartley, Johnny Polinard and Ray Iwanski. Published in The Corpus Christi Caller-Times (Corpus Christi, Texas) - Saturday, August 20, 1966.
