Mr. P.N. Rhodes, 93, of Hereford died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 1989 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Amarillo. Services are pending through Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. He was born in McKinney and married Gertrude Emmons on Aug. 6, 1943 in Dallas. She preceded him in death in July, 1988. Mr. Rhodes came to Hereford in 1952 from Ben Franklin and was a farmer. He was also a veteran of WWI where he served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include two sons, Jerry D. Rhodes of Palm Springs, Calif. and Earl E. Rhodes of Marina, Calif.; four daughters, Mattie Rhodes of Oklahoma City, Okla., Minnie Williams of Harbor Spring, Mich., Margaret Pousen of Omaha, Neb., and Virginia Lloyd of Hereford; a stepson, Bill Emmons of Hereford; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
